SMi’s Military Flight Training to explore next generation training systems and platforms

SMi Reports: International Military Flight leaders to share best practices and discuss the cutting-edge technologies that can help to solve today's flight challenges this October.

Taking place on the 11th and 12th October, SMi’s Military Flight Training brings together international military flight trainers from UK, France, Argentina, Czech Republic, Italy and key industry solution providers to share the latest training best practices and discuss the cutting-edge technologies that can help to solve today's flight challenges.

Here are 10 event highlights:

  1. French Air Force to discuss the FOMEDEC project and their latest training aircraft the Pilatus PC 21.
  2. Emerging player Argentinian Air Force will provide an overview of the current training squadron and review their future training road map, including a special focus on the P-2002 JF Technology.
  3. Czech Air Force to unveil modernisation plans of the training fleet Aero L-39NG and GRIPEN. Furthermore, updates on the MATC-2 project for joint regional fast jet pilot training will be discussed.
  4. The L-39NG Supertrainer - Leading Czech aircraft manufacturer Aero Vodochody will give feedbacks from users from both within and outside military environment as well as provide details on technical specifications and benefits. 
  5. Join a lively debate to explore how to strike the right balance between synthetic and live training as well as explore how new technology is enhancing synthetic simulator.
  6. What lessons can we learn form the current UKMFTS? How is the 5th generation training systems being incorporated? These questions will be answered by former commanding office of the Royal Air Force. 
  7. Hear the latest updates on the NH90 MITT tactical transport helicopter from the Italian Navy.
  8. St. Andrew's Aviation will share lessons learnt from recent operations in Iraq and Afghanistan and discuss future helicopter training requirements.
  9. Take part in a panel discussions with the Czech Air Force, UK MoD, French Air Force and the European Defence Agency to explore the current and future challenges of flight training. 
  10. Examine a more analytical approach to flight training with Thinke Company ltd

The 2-day conference will provide the latest pilot training strategies and developments from the likes of: Argentina, South Africa, France, UK RAF, Norway and Italy. There will also be a dedicated focus on synthetic and live pilot training for fast jet, fixed wings and rotary platforms.
